Anti Aging Products exist to Offset Your Toxic Aging Habits

FACT: 1 can of soda requires 32 glasses of water to neutralize the acidity.

Most people don't get 8 glasses of water a day, so how can you stay alkaline if you're drinking 1 can of soda a day, or even 3 times a week? You'll never catch up! The fix is easy. STOP DRINKING SODA and stop eating acidic foods! Eat more alkaline foods and drink more water!

The average American today drinks over 600 servings of soda per year and is slowly killing themselves with acidosis.  2 sodas per day is the AVERAGE! 🙁

According to the Center for Science in the Public Interest, 4 out of 5 Americans have some caffeine on any given day, the average amount being about 200 milligrams a day (approximately equivalent to what's found in two eight ounce cups of coffee, three to four 12-ounce cans of caffeinated soda, or four eight ounce cups of tea). Since one 12-ounce serving of a diet cola beverage has about 45 milligrams of caffeine, and you're consuming three to four two-liter bottles of it a day, you're getting anywhere from 675 to 900 milligrams of caffeine a day — far more than the average American gulps.

For every 150 mg of caffeine (approximately one 8 oz cup of coffee or two to three 12-ounce cans of caffeinated soda), approximately 5 mg of calcium is excreted out in the urine.

This loss can add up and could be detrimental for your bones, particularly if your diet is already insufficient in calcium. If you must have your caffeine, bone up on calcium by getting your recommended daily intake of calcium, which is 1,000 mg for adults and 1,300 for adults over 50. My genetic test summarized my genetic predisposition toward calcium deficiency, therefore I take double dose of Calcium every day, 1 in the morning and 1 at night.  I'm also Type A blood and hence contain much less acidity in my stomach than a Type O, therefore my stomach can tolerate coffee, and the acid within it more than a Type O individual, who would likely experience heartburn, acid reflux, joint aches, stomach aches, etc. To a Type A, coffee in moderation tends to ‘fertilize' us in a good way. THIS IS WHY SOME FOLKS GET HEARTBURN AND STOMACH ACHES AND SOME DON'T…it depends on our genetic make up, genes, stress levels, etc.  However, it's quite simple: If you experience these issues, eat more alkaline foods and eat less acidic foods.

What, other than Caffeine, Causes Me to be Acidic?

The reason acidosis is more common in our society is mostly due to the typical American diet, which is far too high in acid-producing animal products like meat, eggs and dairy, and far too low in alkaline-producing foods like fresh vegetables. Additionally, we eat acid-producing processed foods like white flour and sugar and drink acid-producing beverages like coffee and soft drinks. We use too many drugs, which are acid-forming; and we use artificial chemical sweeteners like NutraSweet, Equal, or aspartame, which are extremely acid-forming.

One of the best things we can do to correct an overly-acid body is to clean up the diet and lifestyle.  Most people who suffer from unbalanced pH are acidic, and when this happens, the body uses at first its primary regulatory systems (breathing, circulation and eliminations) to repeatedly bring the blood pH higher to safety. But as the acid excess starts building up the body will fight to restore the acid-alkaline balance also by using and depleting our mineral alkaline reserves: calcium specifically is leached first from blood and tissues, and after then from bones, teeth, cartilage (hypocalcaemia, osteoporosis). As an another mechanism of defense to protect our vital organs against damaging acids, our body will start producing fat cells and packing acid wastes in those cells (cellulite/obesity build up). So a return to a healthy acid-alkaline balanced body will help fight obesity and lose excess fat.

Moreover the more the body becomes acidic, the more the blood cells will form into balls of blockage and the less the blood will be fluid. Your blood will no longer be able to get to all the little capillaries throughout your body. Poor blood circulation causes through the body a lack of oxygen (energy) and nutrients, and an insufficiency in the elimination of wastes. This situation impairs your overall metabolism and physiology, as well as your immune system and leads to most degenerative chronic diseases (Candida infections, obesity, osteoporosis, premature aging, acid reflux, arthritis, autoimmune diseases and so on).

I see ACID REFLUX a lot in the scope of my practice as a common condition that many folks see as their destiny, rather than something they can control with lifestyle.  I have been able to help alleviate the conditions of these clients with a few alterations in the way they eat, as well as soothing, cooling remedies such as Aloe, enzymes and other digestive aids.

“A long-term Norwegian study reveals the number of people who experience acid reflux at least once a week has gone up by nearly 50% in the last 10 years, with women appearing to be more susceptible to the condition than men.  One explanation for acid reflux becoming more common could be the increase in the number of overweight and obese people. Being overweight is a risk factor for acid reflux. The findings raise concerns that this will lead to an increase in cancer of the esophagus, a once rare but now more common malignancy that is very difficult to treat.”

In summary, mild acidosis can cause such problems as:

  • Cardiovascular damage, including the constriction of blood vessels and the reduction of oxygen.
  • Weight gain, obesity and diabetes.
  • Vitamins and minerals more poorly absorbed.
  • Connective tissue becomes weakened causing skin and hair to lose their tone and texture. Save $ on the hair and skin products and JUST EAT BETTER & DRINK MORE WATER!
  • Headaches and migraines are more common.
  • Water retention – likely due to mineral imbalances
  • Bladder and kidney conditions, including kidney stones.
  • Immune deficiency.
  • Acceleration of free radical damage, possibly contributing to cancerous mutations.
  • Premature aging.
  • Autoimmune disease.
  • Acid reflux.
  • Osteoporosis; weak, brittle bones, hip fractures and bone spurs.
  • Joint pain, aching muscles and lactic acid buildup.
  • Low energy and chronic fatigue.
WATER IMBALANCES in the body is a major side effect and cause of high acidity in the body.  Our bodies should be between 60-70% water, so if your body is less than that, you likely suffer from one or more of the above.  Although I don't obsess over my actual weight, I do check weekly my water levels, muscle %'s, body fat and calcium levels. I use this Bio-Electrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) scale linked below, to measure mine as well as recommend to clients.  This is 50% off of in store prices.

WHAT'S REALLY COOL, is that you can ALSO test yourself at home every morning to check your ph levels, the same way we test our pools, hot tubs and fish tanks.  🙂  Only these are tested with our urine or saliva.  I CHECK MINE EVERY MORNING, by holding it under my stream of urine, rather than the saliva test which could be inaccurate based on foods you recently ate, and will trip the test.  Here's the brand I use, which is affordable and reliable. I bought mine originally at WholeFoods for $24.95, these are only $15.  Who's lookin out for ya?

The moral of the story is think of your body like a highly evolved machine, and you have the control of the output of the machine.  The more acidic crap you throw down the hatchet without being mindful of it's effects on you, the sooner you will detonate and suffer the consequences, both physically and financially.  Have fun running tests on your systems at home with kits such as these to gain an awareness of your body that was not available to the public until recently.   Enjoy it and relish in the ‘aha' moments where you learn how to clean your insides, and run the machine to it's full potential as much as we enjoy waxing and polishing our cars!
