A Congested Liver is THE MAIN REASON contributing to deaths in America today!

“Considering the #1 cardio-vascular disease, heart attacks and strokes are caused by cholesterol build-up blocking either the coronary or cerebral arteries, which ends up killing the heart and killing the brain. It's the liver's job to filter this cholesterol out of your blood. The #2 cause of death is cancer. Everyone now agrees that almost all cancers are caused by toxic, carcinogenic chemicals in our food, water and air. These poisons get into our bloodstream, kill our cells, create tumors, cause cancer, and kill us. It's also the liver's job to eliminate these poisons from our blood. In both of these causes the liver is not doing its job. The liver is responsible for over 500 functions in the body…”

A person without a healthy liver, is like a sink without a functional garbage disposal.

“The odds are 100% that things will go down the drain, and without a reliable disposal, there’s likely to be back up. Liver congestion is among the leading health problems, yet conventional medicine rarely refers to it, nor do doctors have a reliable way to detect and diagnose such a condition.”

I was astonished to find what the status of my liver was via the blood work that I ran on myself and use to gather info on clients regarding liver health and function.  I have been cleansing regularly for the last 5 years (and by that I mean yearly and more recently quarterly), so when I found that my figures of congestion and oxidation were DOUBLE that of a healthy individual, I cringed.  All of that effort to detox, and it was STILL not enough.  I've been using the standard Liver Cleanses offered by the most popular Health Companies, as well as the one I recommend to clients, and being that it's a ‘generic' Detox, it just wasn't enough.  There is no 1 size fits all cleanse program. Well, if it wasn't, what is?  This is EXACTLY why we run the 101…to determine:

Which type of herbs, cleanse and detox protocol is right for you?

If you experience major, persisting health problems, either physical or emotional, your liver may be congested with toxic compounds that are trapped within clumps of hardened bile (intra-hepatic stones). Almost all health conditions, beauty problems and premature aging are closely linked with declined liver performance which most often is elusive to blood tests. Congestion in the bile ducts of the liver undermines the body's effort to make proper use of the food you eat. This, in turn, may lead to numerous physical ailments and accentuated expressions of discomfort, including fear, anger, impatience, greed, depression, dis-ease and cynicism. Cleansing the liver of existing obstructions and impurities can help restore balance, vitality and happiness in every facet of your life.

Consider the top 20 conditions related to poor liver functions:

  • skin irritation
  • weak eyesight
  • unhealthy bowel movements
  • irregular menstrual cycles
  • estrogen dominance
  • recurring headaches
  • unexplainable weight gain
  • loss of energy
  • sudden aging
  • elevated cholesterol levels
  • most allergies
  • constricted blood vessels
  • bloated abdomen
  • fluid retention
  • gastrointestinal trouble
  • breathing difficulties
  • poor memory and concentration
  • pain in the joints or elsewhere in the body
  • brittle bones
  • any other major illness such as heart disease, cancer, MS, diabetes or Alzheimer's disease.

A buildup of toxic substances will damage liver cells and other organs, glands and systems in the body, leading to increased risk for cancer and a variety of other degenerative diseases. In today’s toxic world, with the prevalence of drug use, chemicals, exogenous hormones and pollution, it’s hard to imagine a case where the liver is not involved to some extent. Today, my greatest concern is the children who fall victim to this, who I too am able to help, before it's too late!

Using advanced lab testing OR simply the last standard blood panel your general practitioner doctor ran (CBC), we collect highly relevant information on digestive and detoxification functions and other data that refines our impression about the patient we are trying to help. By working at this functional level we may leverage the body’s innate desire to be healthy with natural healing strategies that improve clinical outcomes to a new level of satisfaction.

For as much as the liver is a filter, it is also a detoxifying organ. If it isn’t filtering efficiently it is unlikely to be carrying out its detoxification and conjugation duties very well either. This kind of functional information can be incredibly useful in our investigation into underlying causes of disease and assessment of a patient’s poor health condition. It’s this line of thinking that presents us with healing opportunities instead of just treating symptoms and often leads to complete resolution of patient’s complaints. There are 3 markers we test on this CRUCIAL liver panel:

1)  Indican – A positive indican indicates poor bacterial breakdown of protein into individual amino acids which then are not assimilated into corresponding neurotransmitters, such as serotonin.

In other words, with a positive indican you might be eating a healthy diet, but also have a whole range of nutritional deficiencies, any one of which can lead to serious malfunctions and symptoms, unexplored thus far. So what are you going to do, keep supplementing until you cover every deficiency? Take a prescription? Or do you want to truly repair your DIRTY LIVER (hence, digestion and assimilation problems), once and for all?

Let’s take a symptom like depression. Today, its common knowledge that people suffering from depression may find relief by supplementing with the amino acid l-tryptophan, the precursor to the neurotransmitter serotonin. Raise serotonin levels and you might feel better. So that’s it? You have an l-tryptophan deficiency? You should just take pills for the rest of your life?  Well, no. We now know this is only a temporary solution because when the real underlying cause is left to deteriorate, the symptoms will only reappear, often times more severe than when they first presented! Or some new symptom will appear, perhaps in a different area of the body. Then we’re left playing the game of trial and error with additional supplements or resorting to the use of pharmaceuticals. We have identified countless situations where this methodology has led to harsh drugs, and eventually surgery in some cases. This allopathic approach of trying to find the right supplement is commonly used by nutritionists and alternative providers alike…and the main reason people are so ready to work with us when they find us…they FINALLY have found someone who KNOWS how to get to the root of the issue rather than continue to play the guessing game!

#2 – Urinary bile acid sulfatesUBAS – a direct indicator of liver congestion and a window into its (in)efficiency at handling toxins. While the liver can be supported with a number of excellent supplements, even liver “flushes,” the 101 provides information on the liver’s status as an efficient detoxifier and the extent of liver therapy to recommend. If a liver isn’t detoxifying properly, it’s said to be congested.

Other sources and signs of congestion include both indican and lipid peroxides levels, as these are considered to be metabolically undesirable compounds (MUC). MUC can cause problems for our livers and other detoxifying organs and, in the end, increase bile acid spillover from the liver into the blood stream. Similar to how dust may spew into the air when a vacuum cleaner bag gets filled, UBAS will become elevated when the liver is congested.

#3 – Lipid peroxide levels. This represents how much “oxidative stress” is present in the body, aka pro-oxidative action of free radicals and toxins. This marker is very useful in shaping and tracking therapeutic anti-oxidant strategies we’ll create for you. Finding elevated lipid peroxide levels helps us narrow the search for deeper layers of dysfunction, and other causal factors of many chronic degenerative conditions. If not terminated fast enough, runaway free radical damage is mutagenic and carcinogenic, possibly leading to atherosclerosis, coronary artery disease and cancer, the leading causes of death in the United States.

“Chronic degenerative disease, not infectious disease is what’s killing most people these days”

Oxidative stress can result from exposure to toxins, chemicals, metals, pathogens and their excretions – yes, bug pooh. So not only do we identify an area to improve upon, the anti-oxidative vs. pro-oxidative balance, we also get a clue about the next level of investigation. In this case, we would look deeper into where toxins may be lurking in the body, Xanax online, pathogens such as candida, parasites and bacteria and consider an investigation into heavy metals exposure.

How does this test differ from ones my doctor ran, which came up ‘normal’?

The one we collect is saliva and is MUCH different than the one sourced in blood that your primary care physician is likely to have run on you.  Blood tests for liver enzymes are designed to detect liver diseases such as hepatitis, loss of cellular integrity and medical conditions linked to the biliary tract, and most often will only come up outside of normal when it’s too late for preventative measures. The lab tests we use or the ranges we employ to interpret your CBC is essentially an indicator of the efficiency of the liver in its role as a filter, independent of any diagnosis of hepatitis or cirrhosis, etc.

Relying so heavily on blood tests for diagnostic purposes, as conventional medicine does, may actually be a great disadvantage with regard to assessing liver health.

Liver congestion is among the leading health problems, yet conventional medicine rarely refers to it, nor do doctors have a reliable way to detect and diagnose such a condition. Liver enzyme levels in the blood become elevated only when there is advanced liver cell destruction, as is the case, for example, in hepatitis or liver inflammation. Liver cells contain large amounts of enzymes. Once a certain number of liver cells are ruptured, their enzymes will start showing up in the blood. When detected through a blood test, this increased count of liver enzymes indicates abnormal liver functions. In such an event, however, the damage has already occurred. It takes many years of chronic liver congestion before liver damage becomes apparent.  Ask yourself:

Would you rather find out after it’s too late or take measures in your own hands by finding out early what you can do to prevent liver failure, and hence disease and cancer?

This difference in testing is important for the tremendous number of people whose liver enzymes look “normal” on a blood test, but in fact have serious liver dysfunction revealed by the UBAS test. In the latter patient, we’d be inclined to offer liver support therapy, possibly some liver flushing, and use the test to monitor the effectiveness of the therapy. We’d also have fixed our eyes on the prize, the origin of the congestion and malfunction such as overuse of OTC medication, prescription drugs, antigen load and immune complex proliferation.

Conclusion

This liver profile provides data relevant to a multitude of health disorders. Its findings are applicable in treating existing health concerns and in counseling for nutritionally based wellness and anti-aging programs. The three lab tests assess protein digestion, oxidative stress, and liver function.

Identifying healing opportunities is the name of the game. Functional lab work is designed to get to the root cause, or provide useful information about how a patient can improve health, instead of chasing his symptoms with one product or another.
